RED Driving School is delighted to announce that its RR Instructor Training course has been awarded Feefo’s Platinum Trusted Service Award, the highest accolade awarded by the reviews provider.

The accolade comes after RED’s consistent qualification for Feefo’s Gold Trusted Service award, an award received by RED for three consecutive years. To qualify for Gold Trusted Service each year, a business must have collected at least 50 reviews between January 1st and December 31st in 2017, 2018 and 2019, and achieved a Feefo service rating of at least 4.5 out of 5. With RED receiving this award year after year, it has been rewarded with a Platinum Trusted Service award for making fantastic customer service a key part of the business.

The award cements RED’s important role in the instructor training industry, with its unique approach to training, one consisting of personalised training, psychometric risk assessments and e-learning.

Ian McIntosh, CEO of RED RR Instructor Training says: “It is fantastic to be recognised again by such a trusted industry voice. RED prides itself on its industry-leading standards of instruction, and we are proud to offer excellent training to instructors who value our pragmatic approach to road safety. We look forward to continuing to deliver outstanding customer service for everyone taking part in our RR Instructor Training Course and beyond.”

The Platinum Trusted Service award recognises those businesses that go above and beyond to provide a consistently excellent service and dedicate themselves to first rate customer experience year after year.

We are delighted to announce that RED Driving School has won the First Car Award for National Driving School of the Year, 2018!

Ian McIntosh, CEO of RED Driving School says, ‘It is a huge honour to win this award. FirstCar is a highly respectable institution. I would like to thank all of our employees, Driving Instructors and students for helping RED to achieve this award. We look forward to continuing to improve the services that we offer so that learner drivers can get on the roads safely and confidently.’ You can hear more from Ian about the win on our YouTube Channel.

This is the first ever awards that the FirstCar team have hosted, and we are honoured to be one of the winners. The awards have been created to help young drivers pick the driving school, services, technology and cars that help them stay safe behind the wheel.

The FirstCar judging panel say RED took the win as a result of the company having, ‘embraced modern technology in its teaching methods through online and mobile platforms. What’s more, RED Driving School allows learner drivers to post reviews directly to its Facebook page, and has a ‘no-quibble’ refund policy. A strong commitment to road safety is backed by a supportive approach to its learner drivers and career development for its instructors.’

The judging panel consisted of a number of industry experts, as well as members of the three main associations that support Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs); the Approved Driving Instructors National Joint Council (ADINJC), the Driving Instructors Association (DIA) and the Motor Schools Association (MSA).

We’re delighted to have won another major road safety award! RED’s Road Brain Trainer scooped the top prize at the FirstCar Young Driver Road Safety Awards 2016 for taking the lead in road safety by using a modern educational approach to help the learning process.

Created in partnership with road safety experts and driver education software specialist, we created RED’s Road Brain Trainer (RRBT) which is provided free of charge on an unconditional basis to all RED learners throughout the UK.

The on-line educative programme supplements practical driving lessons to develop learner driver’s awareness and understanding of road risks to improve the way that RED students are taught.

Learners can use RRBT in their own time and at their own pace. Many of the modules end with a short assessment, allowing you to check your level of understanding of the issues raised within the module.

Dr Lisa Dorn of Cranfield University researched RRBT and found that the pass rate for the driving test over two attempts improves by 14.2% for learners who complete the RRBT online training programme. RED’s own research shows that those using RRBT passed their practical test with fewer attempts: 1.3 average attempts for RRBT users versus 1.52 for non-users, and 70% of users felt that RRBT helped them pass their practical test.

RED CEO Ian McIntosh says, “We’re so proud of our award win – we really believe that RED’s Road Brain Trainer is a fantastic tool in helping learner drivers to pass their test and more importantly, stay safe on the roads after they have passed. The fact that RRBT has been recognised by the FirstCar Young Driver Road Safety Awards helps cement RED’s position as the leading driving school in the UK.”

Nina Nesbitt, 20, has been learning to drive with RED Driving School since October 2014. Nina, from Edinburgh, admitted that she was very nervous prior to her test, but having a chatty instructor helped her to relax and feel more comfortable during the exam.

She commented: ‘I was really scared leading up to my test, as this was the second time I’ve taken it and I really felt the pressure this time around. However, when I got in the car this morning, I did feel more comfortable and I think that passing the second time around has made me feel more confident that I’ll be a better driver when I get out on the roads by myself.’

Nina, who is currently working on her second album, has been fitting her lessons around her busy schedule. She continued: ‘All my friends learnt to drive when they turned 17, and they’ll all be really shocked when they find out I’ve passed. I’m not convinced any of them will want to get in the car with me, but I’ll show them I’m actually pretty good!’

‘Selfies’ singer Nina said: ‘I am so excited to get on the roads and test out my skills – my least favourite thing to do is make a right-hand turn, but luckily I wasn’t asked to do that on my test. I do think I’m pretty good at a turn in the road though – it’s a great manoeuvre!

‘When the examiner told me I had passed, I was so excited. I’m so grateful to Dritan, my RED Driving School instructor – it’s going to be so strange not having any more lessons with him! He was so patient with me, and I can’t believe I’m actually now a licenced driver.’

The star went on to reveal that her dream now that she’s ditched the L-plates is to drive to Cornwall with a big group of friends to go surfing in a vintage VW camper van.

She also stated that she is looking forward to getting out and about by herself. She said: ‘It’s amazing to think that I’ll just be able to hop in a car and drive myself to the studio. Some of [my friends] are quite far away, so it’s going to be so handy. I’m so excited to have passed because I really feel like driving has given me a feeling of independence – being able to jump in a car and go anywhere is a fantastic feeling.’

Nina is still unsure which car she will buy for herself now that she has passed, but she revealed that she knows what her dream car in the future would be. ‘I think it would be really cool to have a Range Rover – I’d love to drive it out into the country and take in the scenery. If I could have any car in the world, it would definitely be a baby blue Cadillac – I think they are gorgeous. I’m not sure what car I would like right now, but it would probably be a big-ish one!’
